So, at some point I got into the habit of going back to the local network, and starting up a small test to see if what I'm planning on trying actually will crash the debugger, send it into an endless loop, etc. This setup allows you to do things that would be insanely risky if you were to try them out first on the live version of the system. One of the reasons that Voyager 2 managed flybys of Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune with a blown capacitor it its primary receiver, a dead secondary receiver, a bad bit in its computer memory, and so on, is that NASA had a ground-based duplicate of the spacecraft to try things out on. When the turn-around time gets into hours or days, it's well worth taking the time to construct a model of what you want to do and see if it works.
Put another way, it's sometimes necessary to debug your debugging environment. Tools to make tools, like they say.
I totally forgot about the incredibly cheesy Incredible Hulk cartoon that they screened at the Psychotronix Film Festival.
My new plan is to get off the internet unless I have something specific to do after I've made the rounds of my usual blogs etc. Wish me luck.

More paprika this time, plus garlic from the first attempt. I was going to add turnip greens to this, but I chopped them up before checking The Joy of Cooking and discovering that you're supposed to ditch the stalks, so I decided to just put them in the stock bag.
Next time I'll actually measure the water or soup stock in millilitres instead of measuring in cups and converting.
I used up the lima beans and azuki beans, and the pressure cooker appears to have turned them and the split peas entirely into paste. The azuki beans are still perceptible, though, as this iteration has a distinctly lighter, sweeter taste. My next swing at this will include navy beans and some other slower-cooking kind, just so long as it isn't outrageously slow-cooking like chick peas. Alternatively, maybe I should try making a batch all with quick-cooking legumes.
