A sign of progress in my efforts to go to bed at a reasonable hour; twice so far I've gotten to work on Friday before all the donuts are gone. Next time I'll have to remember that I'm not actually obligated to eat them just because they're there.
As part of my weekend campaign to get back to my net calorie target after the aforesaid donuts, I was filling up on vegetables, so finally got around to preparing and cooking the celery root I got last week. Washing and peeling it was pretty easy, and would be easier if I'd done it when it was crisper. Cubed and steamed, it came out just as advertised, with a slightly tangy flavour and a creamy texture.
And a few days later, I can confirm that consuming mass quantities of donuts, even free donuts, is not good for my skin condition. Duh.
My accomplishment for Tuesday night was extending the little utility I wrote to
add up the calories in my recipes (called calcal, naturally)
to take weights in ounces as well as grams.
