Slept in until 8 p.m. Saturday. I'm just going to follow my usual procedure and stay up until Sunday night. It may not actually help but at least I'll get to see the sun.
Anyway, what to do next? I could mop the kitchen floor now, or go to Barefoot Coffee Roasters. Behold the coin toss:

Another coin toss and I ducked into Whole Foods's new Cupertino store and picked up a terrifying bill of goods, including a 5-pound boneless smoked ham. On a whim I took Stelling/Hollenbeck/Pastoria back north, and I was pleasantly surprised to discover that it crosses highway 280 without an interchange, and has generally low traffic all the way to downtown Sunnyvale.

While I'm measuring out the ingredients for oatmeal raisin cookies, I don't have any particular need to listen to anything, but as soon as I start stirring up the flour, margarine and sugar, and then blending in the oats and raisins, I really need to have some podcast or other on the stereo. That goes double for the grinding routine of turning out one measuring spoonful after another onto the cookie sheets.
