I cleaned the toilet this evening. This is about the easiest cleaning task in the apartment, since ye commode is a such an object of revulsion that it has a cleaning implement designed especially for it and heinously nasty cleansers designed so that you can clean everything off it without having to touch it even with rubber gloves on. I guess it also helps that it's glazed porcelain.
This leaves the bathroom floor, the bathtub, and the shower curtain. That last is exceedingly nasty and needs sandblasting, or at least a thorough wiping down with whatever will take the flaking red stains off. And after that, the whole place will be reasonably clean and it won't even have been that hard.
Before going home from work this evening, my pulse was around 47. The last time it got anywhere near that was just after I'd gone hiking the second time, and I haven't been doing anything like that, just drinking coffee, then diet cola, then lemon tea, then decaf, later in the day than most weeks.
Oh yeah, I never mentioned how the bean soup came out. It was fine, and in particular it smelled delicious, mostly because of the ham. The individual beans were very soft, but did not actually disintegrate; I'm guessing that's thanks to the salt. Next time I'm using the pressure cooker, and we'll see what happens.
